Simon
What were you doing before joining the team?
Last year I moved back to the UK from Sydney and decided to spend a year kicking some personal goals. I completed an Illustration MA at Nottingham Trent University, as well as a couple of web projects I’d had on the back burner for some time
What have you been working on so far?
Up until now I’ve been pretty much exclusively been working on The Medic Portal, which is a site that offers academic and professional resources to aspiring medics.
What excites you about CookiesHQ?
Being part of a tight-knit team, and working on some really interesting and challenging projects. My more recent professional experience comes from having worked in a large organisation too – so I’m looking forward to working with a much more nimble workflow.
What is the superpower that you are looking to bring to CookiesHQ?
Versatility, perhaps? I’m originally from a design background, so I hope to be able to exercise the creative side of my brain when the opportunity arises!
What’s on your list for Father Christmas? (Presuming you’re not on the naughty list)
I wouldn’t say it was anything too exciting – but there’s a project I’ve been chipping away at that involves taking some product-style photography. I’ve been planning to get a small photography lightbox set up at my new flat, so could use a couple of bits and pieces for it, and hopefully get it all up and running over the holidays.

What were you doing before joining the team?
After having my daughter I worked part-time, most recently for Imayla, a Central Bristol children’s charity, managing their finance and administrative functions. The positive impact the staff working there is profound. Prior to that I worked in the Creative Industries in various roles concentrated primarily on project coordination and delivery support. I am also a freelance event producer and recently delivered the third Black Girl Convention, held at Engine Shed, alongside an amazing team of women.
What excites you about CookiesHQ?
The first thing that stood out for me were the company values which aligned neatly with mine; open communication, collaboration, community and tech for good. That was quickly followed, of course, by the innovative and impressive products they deliver across a range of sectors – fashion, technology, medical, retail, environmental and social enterprise (whew – that’s a wide remit!). The scale-up and start-up scene in the digital & tech sector is a really exciting place to be and sustainability, inclusion and accessibility are always at the forefront of the projects Cookies HQ deliver. I’m looking forward to getting stuck in and delivering exciting future projects with the team.
What is the superpower that you are looking to bring to CookiesHQ?
Superhuman communication and organisational prowess!
What’s on your list for Father Christmas? (Presuming you’re not on the naughty list)
My birthday is pretty close to Christmas so I’m fortunate to have much of what I want already so spending some quality downtime with my family is top of my list. But, y’know, if Father Christmas insists, Chloé by Chloé perfume would be a close second!
