The summer has been busy at CookiesHQ, with new and existing projects, but also onboarding 2 new team members. Jay joined us in July. She is a Ruby developer and works remote from Nigeria. And Jess, who started a couple of weeks ago, is our new head of marketing. She lives in Bristol and works from the office most days but also enjoys working from coffee shops and the Engine Shed.
We’ve asked them to introduce themselves with a few questions.
Jay
I started learning about software about 5 years ago. I’ve been coding professionally for about three.
I believe I can change the world, make things easier for people.
Apart from my CookiesHQ project, I’m working on my personal project which will help connect people to services around them, starting in Lagos, Nigeria.
What excites me most about CookiesHQ is my growth rate and the fact that CookiesHQ is willing to put in the time to grow as an international remote team. It’s been just over a month and it’s been amazing.
The United States. I visited 5 cities: Ann Arbor, Minnesota, Washington DC, Boston and Detroit.
I actually eat anything. I love cereals though and eggs are nice too with some bacon or sausages.
I haven’t given this any thought but a dog probably. I have 2 😊
Jess
What did you do before CookiesHQ?
I’ve worked in various startups helping them grow to become bigger better businesses! Most recently I co-founded LUX Rewards, the Air Miles of restaurant dining, which is going from strength to strength in London!
What are you bringing to the team?
As head of marketing, I will be making sure that CookiesHQ is in everyone’s mind when people think of a software agency that not only builds incredible products but also does good in the community.
What are you working on so far?
From Google Analytics, sales processes to events, I’ve been learning everything I need to know about CookiesHQ whilst I build a master plan (evil laugh).
What excites you about CookiesHQ?
The projects the team have been working in so far and the businesses they have yet to work in. I love getting my hands dirty and CookiesHQ has given me the freedom to do that!
Do you have any secret skills?
Plenty, but if I tell you they won’t be a secret anymore!
What do you eat for breakfast
I usually have 5 sips of tea then forget about it! I eat later in the morning at my desk.
If you were an animal, what would you be?
An emu. Tall, clumsy but fun to be around!
We’re very excited to have them around and we can tell that they’re already making their mark and doing great things.
Want to join the team too? We’re on the look out for a front-end developer and a junior project manager. Email us at [email protected] for more information (no agencies please).
