This the way Ian from Fanatic Design, who we share an office with, described our new acquisition: a Mac.
Both Nic and I are Linux through and through]. We’ve been using it for many years and, most days, are very happy with it.
But I had to make a decision last weekend. My laptop is 2-years old, we have some funds and the tax year is coming to an end. Decision was taken to buy me a new laptop. The question remained to know which one.
I narrowed my choices down to 2: Mac Book Air and Lenovo Yoga.
The obvious difference is Mac vs PC. I can’t work with Windows, tried a few times and ended up installing Linux on the machine every time.
After a coffee, a blueberry muffin and careful consideration, I bought the Mac Book Air] (reassured by the fact that it was possible to install Linux if I couldn’t work with Mac OS).
When I first switched it on and tried to find my way around it, I must say I was lost (and Nic was laughing at me). No matter what you say, it is very different from a PC and you have to create new habits], which is not always easy.
I am slowly getting used to it and the more time I spend on it, the more I like it.
Because let’s be honest, it looks a lot nicer than Linux, there’s no doubt about it.
And after all, I’m just a girl and I like pretty things 🙂
