Each year, CookiesHQ chooses a local charity to fundraise for throughout the month of December. Last year, we raised over £1,500 for OTR and had planned to do the same for another fantastic Bristol charity this year.
But, in true 2020 fashion, our plans had to change…
Boris Johnson announced Lockdown 2.0, and we immediately thought of the impact this would have on Bristol’s small, independent shops and creators. We’re a small business – we work with and mentor small businesses, and we love it! The first lockdown impacted us, but we were lucky enough to bounce back. So, we got to work brainstorming ideas of what we could do to help those businesses we love through this crisis.
We know how to build websites, and we know how to run online campaigns. We’ve been doing it for ten years. We thought we would stick to what we know!
Our developers have been hard at work building Shop Here Not There – your one-stop-shop for finding local Bristol businesses and charities that need your support.
Why are we doing it?
Because where you shop matters – now more than ever. Lockdowns are looming, and our reliance on online retailers is growing, meaning independent traders will face their most challenging Christmas yet. We believe now is a time to move away from lining billionaire’s pockets, or sustaining tech conglomerates who have little interest in an ecosystem beyond themselves. We want to support the local independent retailers we love this Christmas, and encourage others to Shop Here Not There.
How much does it cost?
It costs absolutely nothing to get your business listed – we’re doing this because we want to support the Bristol community.
How do I get listed?
You can fill out this form and we’ll send you everything you need to get your information over to us.
