Nic has recently been contacted to give a talk to second-year Computer Science students at the University of Bristol. The talks are incorporated within the students’ ‘Career Management Skills’ unit and should deal with various aspects of self-employment and entrepreneurship.
He chose to address the financial aspect of freelancing – how to fix your rate within your market, how clients are often prepared to pay for quality work, how your rate should reflect the level of service you offer, how to estimate the buffer you need etc.
His objective is to try and share his experience of what is often considered as a sensitive subject. With 10 years of freelance work, both in France and the UK, in 2 very different contexts, there’s a lot he learned and can share!
The talk is taking place on February 26th. Let us know if you’re interested, we could share the slides.
