I’m pleased to announce that we’ve launched our first meet up event, Design / Build / Market – a quarterly mini-conference that aims to promote community by bringing the disciplines within Design, Web Development and Marketing together to learn from industry peers. Each event will cover a different topic from the perspectives of these disciplines, but in a cohesive way that is easy for everyone to understand.
We thought we’d start with a smaller one-off social before the main event, while we nail down the final details. It’ll be taking place at a central Bristol location, which we’ll confirm in the next few days.
The plan for this social is to find out more about everyone and discover what you’d like to get out of Design / Build / Market – what you’d like to learn about and who you’d like to see/hear talk at our events. We’ll also be discussing a bit about the format of the mini-conference and why we decided to start it in the first place!
It’d be great to see people there and hear your thoughts. We’ve had a great response so far, with over 100 people signing up to the D / B / M mini-conference group – the date for the first event has been tentatively set for Thursday 27th October, with it recurring once every three months after that.
The theme for the first one is on Crowdfunding and will feature some ace speakers such as:
- CrowdReach – an advertising service providing targeted Facebook ads that put your crowdfunding project in front of a highly focused audience
- Kirsty Ranger, founder of Crowd10 and IdeaSquares – a support service for startups that offers tools and accelerator programmes to help them achieve funding
- Fundsurfer – a hybrid crowdfunding platform and growing community that provides a range of funding options for projects and companies who are starting out.
We’d love to meet you, so please do sign up to the social here on our Meetup page. In the meantime, if you’d like to ask us anything about D/B/M, feel free to comment on the Meetup page, leave us a comment down below, send us an email or give us a Tweet.
