Stornaway.io allows content producers to map, build and launch interactive stories. From conception to scriptwriting and interactive video building their platform will help create the next Bandersnatch. As you can imagine, for the Cookies team, there was a lot of sweat and love put into building a platform that was as easy and fun to use as possible!

As Stornaway.io prepared for their launch, the CookiesHQ team set about using and testing the platform. The ultimate challenge was for us (non-producers!) to use Stornaway.io to create our own interactive film. We couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with it…

First, we mapped our story

The Stornaway.io tool allowed us to easily map out our story and visualise the different options that viewers would have whilst they interacted with our film. As you can see here, the mapping tool showed us that we needed to upload 14 video clips to make our film, which included our challenges, an introduction, and characters view.

Second, we filmed our clips and edited the paths

Once we had uploaded our clips, we could easily make sure that the viewer would have options at the bottom of the clip to select the next outcome. The image above shows that viewers can select the winner of the balancing challenge: Glen, Nat or Jess.

Third, we published the film and will be accepting Oscar nominations via our contact page

And finally, for a bit of silliness, we published the CookiesHQ Stornaway.io video! In this video, you can select the challenges you want the Cookies team to perform, and select the person you think did it best… enjoy!
