Good Sixty are busy expanding into new areas – digitally and physically – and they show no signs of slowing down. Here are some of the artisanal food delivery service’s biggest wins over the past year.
Seeing our clients grow and succeed is one of the best parts of the job. And we’re lucky to be partnered with several innovators taking their respective industries by storm.
One such innovator is Good Sixty founder Chris Edwards, who paired up with us back in 2016 when the service was just an idea. Chris wasn’t just looking for a team of developers, but a technical partner that could bring suggestions and raise solutions to his business problems.
Since launching the minimum viable product (MVP) in 2017, we’ve designed and developed plenty of new functionality that has expanded the Good Sixty offering.
Here are the most exciting developments from the past year alone.
Search and find
To keep the Good Sixty MVP lean, customers could initially only order from one retailer at a time. A post-launch priority was bringing in the ability to place orders with different retailers at the same time.
With varying locations, opening hours, and turnaround times to take into consideration, the challenge was to get all those pieces of information to Elasticsearch.
Last summer, we rolled out this new functionality, along with a recommendations system that helps users find and try new retailers we think they’ll like.
Multiple clusters
Although Chris was inspired to create Good Sixty while living off Gloucester Road in Bristol, he hoped that the business would be able to expand and connect far more people with independent retailers.
In November 2018, Good Sixty officially expanded its services to neighbouring Bath. They also teamed up with eco delivery service Three Bags Full to deliver the goods via zero-emission electric bikes.
We replicated the website experience for users in Bath – and ensured the same process could be rolled out for every new location added in the future. And we hear there are more places coming!
In anticipation of this this, we’ve mapped out clusters to geolocation points, allowing us to offer geo searches to all users.
Artisans by post
And for those living outside of Bristol and Bath, you can now order your favourite groceries to be delivered by post.
The Artisans by Post service stocks everything from vegan cheese to honey, tea to beer. Simply adding a bit more functionality to the website meant that Good Sixty’s indie retailers can now reach new markets and serve customers all over the UK.
We’re expecting plenty more good ideas from the Good Sixty team and look forward to seeing what the future holds.
